Good news that £10m will be available to Local Authorities to widen pavements to ensure social distancing is possible. However, disappointed with the answer that measures don’t include fixing potholes and repairing dangerous surfaces. The surfaces need to be safe as well as wide to ensure safety for those with disabilities or sight loss, too. These measures really need to go hand-in-hand.
Community, support and solidarity will be crucial if we are to weather this pandemic.
