I am disappointed by just how badly the SNP Government have dropped the ball on this. It is vital that people across Scotland have the right safety information but the lack of awareness raising has delayed action.
Age Scotland have said that one year extension is not long enough. Homeowners need to be protected from fire and it is the job of the SNP Government to ensure they have the right information – on products, costs, and timeframe.
I hope Parliament is not going to be here this time next year – we need leadership and a clear strategy to ensure that there is not just a communications strategy, but that all those involved help our constituents get the fire safety information and support they need.
